On the occasion of 33rd World Tourism Day, a new jungle trail connecting Sauraha with Marchauni Khola through Purano Padampur alongside the Rapti River was opened on Thursday by Sauraha-based tourism entrepreneurs for tourists visiting Nepal.

The 9km long trail is restored as wetland and boats and tourists will get to experience birds nests in Padampur and most importantly, will no longer have to roam inside local community forests and CNP area where some tourists have been attacked by wild animals.

Shankar Sainju, Chairman of Regional Hotel Association, Sauraha, said that the new trail is completely safe.
