This week on “Dancing with the Stars” the All Star celebrities performed the two fastest dances in the Ballroom with the Jive and the Quickstep. The injury bug has already bitten some of the dancers and two months of performances remaining.
The first couple on the dance floor was Melissa and Tony with a Jive. Hostcalled it a great start to the show. A smiling Len said the bar was set high; adding the performance was full on with great technique. Melissa and Tony scored 23.5 points for their Jive.

This week Len said it was a gold medal performance that had speed and control. Bruno said Apolo proved focus and hard work paid off; adding Apolo’s footwork was incredible. Carrie Ann noted that Apolo put his competition pants on; adding that the key to winning the competition was truly driving the dance and leading…which Apolo did. Apolo and Karina scored 24.5 points for their Quickstep.
Sabrina and Louis also performed a Quickstep. Despite getting hurt in rehearsals when Louis dropped Sabrina on the stairs, the pair included the move in their dance…with no mistakes. Attired in a bright fire engine red tuxedo football starand partner Cheryl Burke performed a Quickstep that Len said had a cool cat attitude. Len noted Emmitt’s frame was lacking but overall felt the performance was great. Bruno noted the pair had red hot chemistry; adding the energy was great. Carrie Ann said that Emmitt was easy to watch but cautioned Emmitt to watch out for the speed skater and the racecar driver. Emmitt and Cheryl scored 22.5 points for their dance.
After falling to the bottom two and facing elimination last week, Drew and Anna hoped their Jive would redeem them in the eyes of the judges and fans. Bruno said their Jive was rough and ready, had energy, attack, and was powerful. Carrie Ann welcomed Drew home; adding that last week he was like Flat Stanley and was full of surprises this week. The final performance of the night was a Jive from Giles and Peta. Earlier it was reported that Giles had torn a muscle in his leg; but in fact, he only strained the hamstring muscle and despite being told he should rest the leg for a week or so, Giles chose to dance. Opening sitting at the piano and appearing to play, Giles and Peta performed a Jive that Carrie Ann said had the best kicks and flicks she had ever seen. Carrie Ann added that the dance was fun, fantastic and Giles had a littlething going. After noting that a dancer had to be consistent to win, Len said that Giles’ Jive was fast, had attack, was dynamic, and fabulous. Bruno said, “let the good times roll.” Giles dedicated the dance and song to his father who died 17 years ago to the date.
