Suicide bomber kills 13, including 3 Nato troops

A suicide bomber on a motorcycle targeted a joint NATO-Afghan foot patrol in Khost city in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 13 people including three NATO troops. No names or nationalities of the NATO troops have been revealed yet, but one of the dead has been confirmed as an Afghan interpreter, who was working with NATO. Another 60 people were also injured in the attack. And officials expect the number of dead to rise. Local Afghan officials said the attack was on a coalition convoy, which was passing through a crowded part of the city. The attacker then waited, until the troops had left their vehicles, before detonating his explosives for deadly effect. This attack follows a weekend of violence that saw three US soldiers, a contractor, and three Afghan soldiers killed on Saturday. That now takes the US military death toll to over 2000 dead.
