Simple elegance with interesting twists from Givenchy for spring/summer 2013

French fashion house of Givenchy debuted their Spring/Summer 2013 show during Paris Fashion Week on September 30, 2012 in Paris, France, proving that simple elegance says it’s the woman who makes the outfit…

Givenchy Spring/Summer 2013 likes to create unusual asymmetrical designs with only one sleeve while also keeping lines simple and uncomplicated – even with the addition of ruffles and gathers!

To illustrate that such a dichotomy can be achieved is Givenchy’s pale blue ruffle necked knee-length dress with one long left sleeve and elegant long lines on the left, while the right side features gathers…

There is also a selection of asymmetrical one-shoulder chiffon blouses that had to be paired with a simple tank underneath to preserve modesty and those were interestingly teamed with skirts and pants – together!

Unusual split rounded sleeves (hard to describe!) are also featured throughout this collection. But the most unexpected element was the white priest’s collar to a simple black suit! That little white collar also appears throughout…

The Givenchy Spring/Summer 2013 collection favors black and white to keep things simple but also includes soft beiges and pale blues for variety.
