Karachi: Section 144 imposed for 3 days

KARACHI: In view of the security threats and uncertain law and order situation, public gatherings and rallies have been banned in Karachi for three days (September 29 to October 1), Geo News reported.

Sindh Home Department in a notification issued banned all kinds of gatherings, public meeting, procession, rallies and demonstrations for Saturday, Sunday and Monday under Section 144 Cr.P.C.

The decision had been taken for the maintenance of law and order in the metropolis in order to ensure the safety and security of life and property of citizens at large, the notification said.

Moreover, exhibition of arms is also strictly prohibited during the ban imposed.

The notification further stated that legal action would be taken against the violators.
