Jordan Hill Assault Charge is Newest Distraction for Lakers

Houston Texas. Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill was sentenced to one year probation on Thursday after he pleaded no contest for beating up his former girfriend 29 year old Darlene Luna in February.

The 25 year old Hill will have to undergo counseling and a fine of $500 for beating his former girlfriend. The assault charge was dropped from a felony to a misdeameanor.

Hill beat up Luna in his apartment when Hill was employed by the Houston Rockets basketball team.

Luna cried on the witness stand when she recalled the tragic event and did not look at Hill during their time in the courtroom. Luna said Hill never said he was sorry for assaulting her.

Hill played basketball for the Houston Rockets from February 2010 to March 2012 when Hill was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers for point guard Derek Fisher.

Hill was drafted by the New York Knicks in the 2009 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft.
