This past Monday night during a concert in Washington, D.C., 54-year-old pop diva Madonna exhorted the crowd to vote for Obama - which is in itself kind of weird since Madonna represents part of the much-hated 1% of wealthy Americans. But it was the way that she referred to the president that raised some eyebrows.
"So, you all better vote for f--kin' Obama, OK?" she exhorted concertgoers. "For better or for worse, all right, we have a black Muslim in the White House!"
Two things really caught my attention about what Madonna said here. The first was that even though she exorted the crowd to vote for Obama, she put in the disclaimer, "for better or for worse". In other words, she like many people that will be going to the voting booths that first Tuesday in November, really could care less about the rising gas prices, perpetual unemployment, the national debt or whether the Middle East is in flames. That stuff is not important. What is important is that the president is likeable and hip, he hangs out with Jay-Z and Beyonce and the ladies on "The View" like him. Obama, in a sense, is being treated like the ebullient contestant on "American Idol" who has little talent but gets to stay on for another round because people feel sorry for him.
The second thing that struck me about the comments made by the controversial songstress is the lack of coverage or feigned outrage by the mainstream media. But then again, Madonna is a far left liberal and one of them so it's ok to make these types of remarks. Hank Williams Jr. would not have gotten away with this, I assure you.
It's no mystery and shouldn't come as no suprise to anyone about what side Democrats, liiberals and Hollywood -types prefer to take when it comes to our allies. Whether it's from the apologetic President Obama or the sultry Sicilian in between songs at some concert venue, Radical Islamists - many of whom are Muslim, always get the benefit of the doubt and are praised even if they kill Americans or regardless if they ever apologize for their vile acts.
Our president, when given an opportunity to really put the hammer down on these acts of violence from Muslims, prefers to excoriate American filmakers for practicing their freedom of speech and expression by way of movies that Muslims find offensive. But when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad comes to our country to spew his hate speech against Americans and Jews on Judaism's holiest days of the year - Yom Kippur, this very same president does not condemn this. When Ahmadinejad calls the Jewsih State a "nuisance that can be eliminated and has no roots in the Middle East," this very same president gets lock jaw. Go figure.

Obama wakes up each morning wondering what he can do for Obama and not for the country and relies on the sound-bytes to cause enough diversion to deflect from his dismal record on the economy and foreign policy.
I like your comparison to American Idol, how appropriate.
Nobody really cares what she says anyway, at least I don't. Anyway she's one of those loony liberals.
I think the left & the Obama media as well as many people on this site care about what criticism is thrown Obama's way.
They only care if it comes from a Conservatives mouth. That is why you are not seeing the feigned outrage or calls for public apologies. It's very hypocritical. It's the same reason that Harry Reid gets away with the comments against Mitt Romney's religious background.
