The one hour episode of the blind auditions on “The Voice” filled a few more spots on the coach’s teams and brought the series a bit closer to the battle rounds and the live performances.
First up was Sylvia Yacoub who was born in Alexandria, Egypt. Three of the four coaches turned their chairs, only Adam failed to turn his chair. Blake said that he would be honoured to work with Sylvia but she chose Christina for her coach.
North Carolina pig farmer failed to turn any chairs with his performance but had the coaches convinced he was a girl with his voice. Adam, who also has a high voice, told IJ that it felt like he was straining in the upper registers.
Smog technician Charlie Rey sang the Michael Buble rendition of “Home” and got Blake and Adam to turn their chairs. Blake said that Charlie had the cool confident factor and a vibrato to his voice similar to that of Buble. Cee Lo enjoyed the performance. Adam said that Charlie did a wonderful job and had a refined quality to his voice. Charlie chose Blake for his coach.
Amanda Brown grew up singing in the church but is ready to branch out into other genres. Only Cee Lo turned his chair for Amanda.
One of the oldest contestants on “The Voice” 55 year old Yolanda Barber has been singing for over 40 years and recently performed on cruise ships. And while she failed to turn any of the coach’s chairs, Adam called the performance amazing. Cee Lo said that he could tell she was a seasoned singer and Christina said that she almost pushed her button several times.
The final performance of the night was from Cassadee Pope who up until recently was in a rock band. Since the band broke up Cassedee is ready to launch a solo career. For the first time in over a week, Cassedee turned all four of the coach’s chairs with Adam, Christina, and Blake turning theirs almost at the same time. Adam said she was amazing. Christina said it was well executed and that Cassadee can do it all. Cee Lo said she looked cool and comfortable on the stage and gave a wonderful performance. Blake said that there was nobody like Cassadee; adding that he believed she could be a superstar. Cassadee chose Blake for her coach.
With the addition of the singers on Tuesday’s auditions all four coaches have 14 singers on their teams.
