Milan-based Russian designer Sergei Grinko showed his much-anticipated Spring/Summer 2013 collection in a charged fashion show during Milan Womenswear Fashion Week on September 25, 2012 in Milan, Italy.
Sergei Grinko may manufacture his clothing in Italy but he enjoys incorporating elements from the traditional clothing of his homeland, creating designs which are unique and utilize a distinct Russian aesthetic.
Adhering to a color palette of pretty pastels in marbled patterns as well as solid and color-blocked grey, slate blue, a pale silvery green and the neutrals black and white.
Ensembles that truly make a impression in the Sergei Grinko Spring/Summer 2013 collection are his slate grey satin gown with a dropped waist at the hips and completed with a jeweled fencing mask-like headpiece, complete with veil; a pastel gown with fluttery butterfly sleeves and a blue and green color-blocked dress with matching coat.
There are some very unusual ensembles in this collection by Sergei Grinko, including a very simple pale slate blue and white duster style sleeveless coat, semi-transparent, is worn as a top, teamed with short white shorts, a matching handbag and medium blue satin pumps with ankle straps.
An interesting color-blocked dress in similar colors has a skirt that resembles an upside-down umbrella! Another dress in pastels has a cross-body ornament resembling Christmas lights…
Among his accessories, a periwinkle blue and seafoam green clutch, a pale slate green handbag and a white clutch with unusual buttons are definite possibilities.
