What part of forever cover by Dez

Week three of the blind auditions on “The Voice” opens with Blake saying that the anticipation of the next singer and hearing the footsteps walking on the stage is his favourite part of the show.

First up was Michelle Brooks Thompson who performed “Proud Mary”. Adam and Cee Lo turned their chairs and Christina joined them on the last note of the song. Adam said that he would be blessed and honoured to work with Michelle. Christina was chair dancing as she listened, saying that she turned her chair because she had to see what was going on behind her. Cee Lo said Michelle’s performance was seamless with flawless vocals; adding that Michelle made the song fresh and new. Before making her choice Michelle thanked everyone and then chose Adam for her coach.

Peruvian singer Diego Val sings and plays guitar for sick kids. In his audition Diego played guitar and sang his song in English and Spanish. Cee Lo was the only coach to turn his chair and was chair dancing during the performance. Cee Lo said Diego did a great job; adding, “Diego welcome home.”

Lauren, who said it would be awesome just to say hi to Blake, failed to turn any of the coach’s chairs. After the performance her mom said, “are you kidding me.” Cee Lo said she did a great job; but Adam noted there were some pitchy issues. Blake saying that he heard greatness agreed with the pitch issues and Christina said that Lauren had something special and any problems were fixable.

Music teacher Susanna Choffel played guitar and sang “Landslide” for her audition. Adam and Blake turned their chairs. Cee Lo noted that he knew it was a grown woman singing. Christina loved the subtle approach to the song. Adam called Susanna refreshingly unique. Blake said she showed how good she was; adding that that could be the finale of the show. Blake called it a heartfelt performance with nothing flashy, letting her artistry speak for itself. The coaches noted that Susanna looked and sounded like Stevie Nicks. Susanna chose Blake for her coach.

Going into the night, Blake only had seven singers on his team but also added Michaela Paige and Ryan Jirovec also joined Blake’s team.

Back in season two Dez Duron auditioned but failed to turn any coach’s chairs. Performing “Sarah Smile” this time around Dez turned three of the chairs – Blake, who recognized him; Christina, and Cee Lo. Cee Lo said Dez did a great job and commended Dez for coming back; adding that Dez had so much soul in his voice. Christina was glad that Dez had come back; saying the sky was the limit. Blake noted that Dez was a good looking guy; and added that Dez reminded him of Elvis. Dez chose Christina.

Music teacher VJ sang coach Cee Lo’s own song “Forget You” and while he failed to turn any of the coach’s chairs Cee Lo came up on stage and gave VJ a little lesson n how to perform the song.

New Orleans native and Hurricane Katrina survivor Alexis Marceaux lost everything in the storm but gained Cee Lo as her coach when he was the only one to turn his chair for Alexis’ performance of “Go Your Own Way”. Cee Lo said Alexis had an impeccable voice; adding that rocker chicks turned him on.

Old school soul singer Brandon Mahone performed “I Wish it Would Rain”. Adam, Cee Lo, and Christia turned their chairs for Brandon. Christina said Brandon was really cool and soulful. Cee Lo said Brandon did a great job and had a lot of experience for being only 17. Adam noted that Brandon didn’t just imitate the singers of the past but was the next in line. Brandon chose Adam for his coach.

Parking valet Jeffrey sang the Elvis Presley song “ A Little Less Conversation” but failed to turn any of the coach’s chairs. The coach’s noted that Jeffrey had a unique voice an great tone but just didn’t have anything button pushing worthy. Jeffrey was not the only singer who failed to turn any chairs, there were a number of other singers who didn’t make the cut.

Child singer and former Disney star Jordan Pruitt only turned one chair – Christina’s; but Christina noted that Jordan was what she had been waiting for.

The final performance of the night was from Terisa Griffin who once worked with Jerry Butler sang “Someone Like You” by Adele. Christina and Blake turned their chairs. Christina said the performance was lovely; adding that she would have to be an idiot for not pushing her button for Terisa. Blake called Terisa awesome. Before making her choice Terisa had a question for the coaches; asking what they as a coach would do for her. Terisa chose Blake for her coach.
