Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Philadelphia police have identified the Republic Airlines flight attendant who carried a loaded gun in her luggage that went off by accident as she reported to work on Sunday as Jaclyn Luby, 27, of West Chester Pennsylvania.
Luby faces a disorderly conduct charge and the policewoman who fired the handgun by accident is on desk duty until the investigation is complete as of Monday.
A U S Airway spokesman told NBC10 News in Philadelphia that a police officer was called over to check out a handgun and by accident a shot was fired. The bullet went into a TSA break room where an employee was sitting down but no one was injured in the incident the police report said.
Luby said to the investigators she did not know her handgun in her carry on luggage as she passed through terminal C about 6:30am.
Police said Luby has a license to carry the weapon. Police took the handgun away from Luby. The county that gave Luby her permit to carry the handgun will decide if it will return the handgun to her.
Court records show Luby received a summary citation for disorderly conduct and released.
The airline reported Luby was replaced by another flight attendant. The airplane traveled to its Dallas Texas destination on time and without further incidents.
Just my opinion it looks like a script for a Three Stooges short story gone wild.
