INILAH.COM, Denpasar – the plan of the Supreme Court to jail Anand Krishna reaps a storm of strong rejections. The interfaith spiritual figure says he will resist and fight back. Anand even claims he is ready to die if the decision that Anand deems unfair is performed by the Supreme Court.

Although he is going to be detained, the spiritual leader of Indian descent also says it does not deter him from voicing the truth and fighting against injustice. “We will fight against the erroneous decision of the Supreme court which turns Anand Krishna into a criminal,” says Dr. Sayoga from Anand Ashram Sympathizers’ Community (KPAA) in his official statement on Monday (09/24/2012).

Anand responds to the publication of the copy of the decision appeal of the Supreme Court which has been posted on their official website on September 21st, 2012 by being valiant. The application and the granting of an appeal on an acquittal of South Jakarta District Court are considered against the law.

According to him, if the elements of law enforcement institution at the Office of the District Prosecutor and Supreme Court have the guts to violate the law, it is certainly time for the people to fight against this abuse of power.

For him, the decision to detain him is bizarre because it was announced at the same time as the celebration of World Peace Day on September 21st and the International Bali Meditators' Festival (IBMF) in Ubud, Bali, 20 to 23 September 2012, which was attended by Anand.

The publication of the copy of the Supreme Court decision and the pressure to detain Anand Krishna which was timed to coincide with world’s big festival on meditation is a systematic attempt to silence and to stop Anand’s activities. This all happened right amidst Anand’s effort to promote peace, compassion and interfaith and international harmony.

Sayoga asserted that he regards the decision of the Supreme Court as erroneous because according to Article 244 and 67 of Criminal Code Procedure an acquittal cannot be appealed or be brought to the Supreme Court. It is intended that each citizen gets the recognition, equality, and warranty of legal certainty that is fair as mandated by Article 28 of the Constitution of 1945.

Previously the Panel of Judges of South Jakarta District Court which was chaired by Judge Albertina Ho on November 22nd, 2011 already acquitted and restored the rights and dignity of the interfaith spiritualist Anand Krishna.

Sayoga affirmed by quoting Father Franz Magnis Suseno’s, who is concerned about the precedence of continuous criminalization by elements within the law enforcement institutions, “Anand has been criminalized as a means of silencing and stopping the interfaith activities that he initiated.”

Meanwhile, about the decision which creates a lot of controversy, in his Facebook’s status the former Minister of Research and Technology Muhammad A.S. Hikam wrote: Anand says that his stance is clear. Anand states that he is not going to obey this unconstitutional and erroneous decision till the last drop of his blood. “They can only drag my dead body out, not me,” said Anand as quoted from Facebook.
