It's rehab for Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong

Green Day lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong has gone into rehab. The band announced that Billie Joe is "seeking treatment for substance abuse".

The announcement follows a guitar trashing incident at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas on Friday night. The singer saw a digital display saying that the band only had one minute left on stage. This enraged the Green Day star who smashes his guitar and shouted abuse at the organisers.

Armstrong shouted: "I'm not fucking Justin Bieber, you motherfuckers" He carried on: "Let me tell you something, I've been around since 19-fucking-88. And you're gonna give me one fucking minute? … You gotta be fuckin' joking. I got one minute, one minute left. Now I got nothing left. Let me show you what one minute fucking means."

Fans organisers and even other band members looked on astonished as the singer smashed up equipment before storming off stage. He left with a final scream of "We'll be back!"

The band's management have released a statement saying that the band apologise for any offence that they may have caused to their fans and to the Clear Channel. They have also announced that are to cancel promotional events while Billie Joe is in rehab.
