If you awoke this morning with a peace in your heart that had been missing for a while, you probably realized that all was right in the world once more — because Lindsay Lohan made it back to jail way before Amanda Bynes ever did!
LiLo was popped this morning after allegedly hitting someone with her car while entering a New York City hotel. According to reports, Lindsay and her crew were heading into the Dream Hotel while driving her Porsche Cayenne when she clipped into a passerby, although she was going at a slow speed.
Her assistant checked to see if there was any damage and then entered the hotel with Lindsay. The man was said to have been hit in the knee, but was found to have suffered no serious injuries when he was taken to the hospital. Lindsay was allegedly unaware that she had hit anyone until she was called out of her hotel room about 2:30 am by police, when she was apprehended.
She was fingerprinted, given a desk appearance ticket, charged with leaving the scene of a crime and released on her own recognizance.
But — get this — could Lindsay have been in the clear all along? Read on after the jump!
According to the security footage, Lindsay may not have caused any damage whatsoever.
TMZ’s law enforcement insiders give a bit of a differed tale of what really went down:
Lindsay was driving into the hotel, down a ramp. The alleged victim was walking in the pedestrian path, which Lindsay had to cross.
The video shows Lindsay’s car — which is traveling at a crawl — gets very close to the pedestrian but it’s unclear if the vehicle makes contact. In fact, sources tell us … 2 detectives came to the hotel early this morning and viewed the tape. One detective felt Lindsay’s car “grazed” the back of the alleged victim’s leg, but the other detective felt the car never made contact.
In fact, the “injured” man sprints after Lindsay’s car following the “hit” and seems to recognize that it’s her only once he gets near the entrance of the place. Lindsay stayed only for a few minutes at the Dream hotel — which also has a club there — before leaving and returning later on.
The man, said to have been hit in the knee, called 911 and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
We’ll keep you posted on this one.
