Stopped before a big gain

(Gibsonia, PA) September 21, 2012 - The Pine Richland Rams turned out to be no match for Pennsylvania's No.1 ranked Quad A North Allegheny Tigers last night. While the Rams were the first to put points on the scoreboard early in the first quarter with a 33-yard yard field goal by Senior Grant Goldberg, it was all Tigers the rest of the game.

Halfway through the first quarter, Tiger's running back, Alex DeCiantis put NA on the scoreboard with a 10-yard run into the Ram's end zone and after a successful extra point kick by Jason Buchert, both Seniors, the Tigers took and kept the lead and control of the game the rest of the night.

By the end of the first half, the Tigers had taken a substantial lead – 21 to 3.

Things didn't get much better for the Rams in the second half, playing at home in a packed stadium, after DeCiantis rushed 54 yards for another Tiger's touchdown, making their lead 28-3 halfway into the third quarter.

Control of the game was clearly in the Tiger's hands throughout the third quarter having possession for a little over eight minutes versus the Ram's of a little over three minutes. The Rams were unable to convert any of their third or fourth downs. The last points of the game came with 8:19 remaining in the third quarter when Tiger's Quarterback Matt Leftwich completed a pass to Gregg Garrity who then ran 29 yards making the score 35-3.

The game's tempo throughout the fourth quarter can only be described as a scoreless struggle, with both teams trading possession. However, the Tigers still maintained overwhelming control of the game with a possession time of 8:12 to the Rams 3:48.

After Friday's game the Tigers remain undefeated and are going for their third consecutive conference title.
