Have you seen Maryland Terrapins "White Ops" uniforms yet? Well you should on College Football week 4 Maryland new all-white football uniform and helmet unveiled today in game against No. 8 West Virginia in Morgantown.
There has been a lot of reaction from sports sites and fans on Maryland's Under Armour unis. Lostlettermen.com describe it as, "bizarre “White Ops” uniform that has the team looking like Siberian foot soldiers." Bleacher.com actually likes the Maryland White Ops grading the helmets, jerseys, gloves and cleats between A to A-.
But as you can see from the pictures above, the Terps white variation is not bad at all compared from the state flag helmet Mariflage that first turned so many heads during the 2011 season opener. Even Washington Post isn't really a fan of last year unis , "Lady Gaga’s concert wardrobe is less flashy than those Pride uniforms, so I can’t imagine “more discreet” was a tough design goal."
This time the white and gray uniforms that have the state flag pattern woven into the numbers on the jerseys and the camouflage on the shoes is just suavely cool against the AP ranked mountaineers.
The Terrapins have been competitive in each game so far in a 2-1 start that includes a road victory at Temple and a tough 24-21 loss to Connecticut last week. Now lets see if the new white ops really matters in todays game.
