Teachers and students held out rallies to flay the US blasphemer in Khyber. Head master of Government High School Muhamad Khan Kali Fazl Rehman Khan while criticizing the anti Islam film said that under the garb of the freedom of expression and freedom of speech the West works against the Muslims and Islam. Hundreds of students joined the rally at Khyber whereas another rally was held in Landikotal bazaar by the college students. “The students were chanting anti West and US slogans,” “Down withand the US, “hang the US and the French blasphemers,” were the slogans of the protesters in the protest rallies. The students and teachers were also carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the US. “If speaking against the fake Holocaust and the Queen in Europe is forbidden, it is also very strictly forbidden for anyone to express his negative views against Islam or any Prophet, the speakers highlighted.”
The head master in his speech flayed the ant Islam film and the caricatures in the strongest possible words, urging the leadership of the Islamic countries to get united and decide to boycott the US made products. “The Muslims can sacrifice their lives and assets for the sake of Islam but the time has come to understand the US intrigues against the Muslims as it has waged a crusade against the Muslims,” Fazle Rehman was of the view. The anti Islam film has triggered a wave of awakening in the Muslims to rise to the situation and know the plots concocted in the US against Islam, that is why he stressed upon the Muslims to create unity among their ranks to give a befitting reply to the anti Islam forces, he observed. At the end of the protest, the protesters set ablaze the US president’s effigy and that of Terry Jones to pacify their anger. The traffic remained suspended for a while on the Pak Afghan highway.
Khyber Students Union of Landikotal College also held a protest rally in Landikotal bazaar in front of Landikotal press club here on Saturday to condemn the negative action of Terry Jones and the silence of the US government on this very serious issue. “Our protest will continue until the US government punishes the blasphemer, “Nasir Shinwari remarked, adding that it was a high time to boycott US products. “Propaganda against Islam and the Prophet of Islam can neither be allowed nor tolerated anymore under the cover of the freedom of expression and freedom of speech, which will have serious repercussions in the Muslim world,” he opined.
