Proving he will go to any length to win back the heart of his ex-fiancée, Alex Reid issued a video on the web, begging Chantelle Houghton to forgive him. The cross-dressing cage-fighter opted for the public apology less than two weeks after the couple split following a row which saw Alex being arrested.

In the video posted on Now magazine’s website, Alex Reid, who revealed on Twitter he has dropped his shared publicist with Chantelle, made an impassioned plea to the reality TV actress to give him another chance.

According to Daily Mail, he begged his estranged lover and the mother of his baby girl to try to sort out their issues together, saying, “Chantelle, I love you, I really love Dolly and I really want us to work. But things really have to change. There's been so many untruths said, and I feel if I don't say something, it's going to get worse and worse. Things have to change.”

He also urged her to stop talking about their problems in her weekly magazine column, saying, “You can't keep venting your anger to me in your column. Every couple argues but you don't need to tell the world our problems. I know you love me. I hope you love me. Let's sort this out.”

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Chantelle Houghton was spotted outside her Essex home on Wednesday hours after Reid's comments. The typically groomed and polished former “Celebrity Big Brother” star seemed to be in emotional turmoil as her hand clasped over her mouth.

Chantelle, who gave birth to daughter Dolly three months ago, took to Twitter earlier this month to announce her split from Alex Reid. The actress reportedly ended her relationship to the 37-year-old after she called the police on him when he kicked down the door to their Essex house in the early hours of the morning.

Alex Reid explained the police incident in an interview with Now magazine, saying, “I texted Chantelle two hours beforehand to tell her I was coming home. I rang the doorbell and knocked for five minutes. I called her, she didn’t answer. So I sent her a text message saying, ‘I will knock the door down.’ Out of sheer frustration I booted the door. It just came off.”

He added, “Chantelle was crying and telling them not to arrest me. She’s irrational. But it was too late. I was in shock and really upset. I just felt so betrayed by her. I didn’t do anything wrong, it’s totally crazy.”

Chantelle recently admitted to her New! magazine column that she is still in pain over her split from Alex.
