San Francisco is known for its high class coffee shops. In fact it has its fair share of coffee snobs and now its got its own space age coffee machine. Blossom One Limited is the first product from bay area coffee tech company Blossom Coffee.
Blossom One is aimed at the coffee house and restaurant but there will be many amateur coffee connoisseurs who will want to get their hands on this high tech java machine. But they'd better get their orders in now as the Blossom On Limited is exactly that. It's a limited edition machine and at $11,111 its price reflects that.
The machines are made in Mahogany, Walnut, Sapele, Teak, Zebrawood with ustom materials available upon request. The coffee machine is taken beyond it's funcion to be a artefact that is easy on the eye while not falling into the trap of being 'style over substance'. Each machine is 'signed' like an artwork.
Blossom say: "From bean to cup, the Blossom One will change everything you thought you knew about coffee."
Blossom One comes with its own QR reader camera and has a dedicated App. The QR codes can be used to store your favourite roast and blend combinations. Coffee roasters can craft custom recipes on the Blossom One to achieve their ideal taste. They can then easily store those recipes in the cloud using the Blossom app, and print corresponding QR codes on their bags of coffee.
The team that came up with concept, design and egineering of Blossom One include former NASA and Apple staff. They aim for perfect coffee every time made to the users own specification.
Lemnos Labs, a hardware incubator in San Francisco provided the seed funding for Blossom. Without companies showing belief in innovative new ideas and shelling money out up front for R&D new products and companies like Blossom, especially in these hard economic times would find it incredibly hard if not impossible to move forward.
Well some readers will be tapping their noses and thinking this is just coffee snob hype and carry on with their corporate coffee shop libations. Well that's okay because in reality the Blossom One Limited is not for them. Yes it's unashamedly for the coffee snob.
