Spanish banks bad loans rise

MADRID (AFN) - The value of so-called bad loans on the balance sheets of Spanish banks in July to record highs. Data from the Bank of Spain essentially Tuesday that the bad loans of 1.7 billion euros in the bank balances oppressed, an increase of 960 million euros compared to June.

Total is now 9.9 percent of all loans that the banks towards poor quality. This means that there are serious doubts whether they will be reimbursed. With the deepening of the economic crisis, that percentage could rise further in the coming period.
