On night four of the blind auditions on “The Voice” the coaches continued to fill their teams of 16 singing hopefuls. Blake brought a little item along to use in “convincing” singers to join his team; he brought his County Music Association Award for Best Male Vocalist.
First up was Melanie Martinez a photographer and singer who played the guitar and the tambourine with her feet as she sang the Brittney Spears song “Toxic”. The guys all turned their chairs leaving only Christina who said since the guys turned their chairs she would leave it to them. All of the coaches said that Melanie had a unique voice who didn’t sound like anyone else. Melanie chose Adam for her coach.
Next up was Cupid who was known for the one hit wonder the “Cupid Shuffle”. Saying that the song defined him but didn’t confine him, Cupid chose to perform the song with his name. None of the coaches turned their chairs but Cee Lo asked for Cupid to sing another song. As he was singing Christina tried to push her button. All of the coaches agreed that Cupid should have sung a different song.
Single father of two Brian Scartooci performed thehit “Isn’t She Lovely”. Adam said Brian nailed it and that he would like to see Brian sing with Stevie Wonder. Although Brian admitted that he was sure he was going to choose Cee Lo, Brian chose Adam for his coach.

Anchorage’s JR Aquino has earned 45 million views on You Tube with his videos – five million of those for an original song. He performed “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars. Adam, Christina, and Cee Lo all turned their chairs. JR chose Cee Lo to be his coach.
Although Agina Alverez has had previous record contracts, she didn’t quite have what the coaches were looking for with her performance of “Turn the Beat Around”.
Minnesota resident and father of two Nicholas David played guitar as he sung “Stand By Me”. His unique voice and style impressed Cee Lo Green enough for him to turn his chair for Nicholas.
Seventeen year old Alessandra Guercio attends a school for the performing arts very much like the one in the television series “Fame”. Adam and Cee Lo both turned their chairs for Alessandra. Adam said she was very refined for her age. Cee Lo called it a great vocal performance. Alessandra chose Adam for her coach.
Adanna Duro, Kelly Crapa, and Paulina all impressed the coaches enough to earn spots on coaching teams – Adanna to Adam, Kelly to Blake, and Paulina to Christina.
The final performance of the night was from untrained 16 year old Avery Wilson who hails from a family of dancers; but Avery’s Dad saw that his son was much better at singing. For the first time during the night all four coaches turned their chairs for Avery. Adam called it the most spirited reaction they have seen; adding that Avery was beyond his years. Blake said that he hit his button purely out of respect for Avery’s vocal ability. Cee Lo said that he was humbled and inspired; adding that Avery deserved to be a star and was a child prodigy. Avery chose Cee Lo for his coach.
After tonight’s performances Christina and Adam each have nine singers on their teams; while Cee Lo and Blake each have seven.
