Just when you think there may be a few role models left in the world, one of them,, skates straight into the arms of police over vandalism and public intoxication according to the Nashville Metro Police.
Known in the Olympic World as The Flying Tomato for his wavy long red hair and amazing stunts, he appears to look nothing like that in the mug shots released by authorities where he is almost unrecognizable as the famous snow and skateboarder.
White allegedly kicked someone who tried to block him from leaving Loews Vanderbilt Hotel around 2 a.m. Sunday after it was reported the eight-time medal winning slope style and half pipe champion pulled a fire alarm and basically "raised hell."
According to reports, White tried to leave the hotel after an evacuation due to the fire alarm, but a citizen blocked him from getting into the cab awaiting him. That's when allegedly Shaun kicked the man in an effort to get away. The man apparently chased White and crashed into him, causing the snow boarder to fall back against a fence, according to numerous reports.
What a sad day for all those who looked up to White for his amazing feat of not only earning several Olympic gold medals since 2002 in the Olympic X-Games, for also being a champion skateboarder, but to top it off his inspiring story of beating the odds of a congenital heart defect. The ever so cool, popular athlete who made both sports look easy had two cardiac surgeries before the age of five.
Shaun White surely must have hoped he was on the slopes practicing his half pipe rather than spending time in a hospital and finding himself read his rights for vandalism and public intoxication when all was said and done. The good news for White is the guy who Shaun White attacked refused to press assault charges. Hmmm, was he a fan of the superstar too?
