Biggest-ever rally over an anti-Islamic film in Beirut, Lebanon, was followed by mass demonstrations. Most of the demonstrators wore green and yellow headbands to show the fact that they are members in Hezbollah. The official number of participants is not exactly known yet , but has been aproximated, based on video and photos, to be almost a hundred thousand people. "America, hear us – don't insult our Prophet," sounded the protests. The rally had two columns, where the women walked separately from the men. Some of them held portraits of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Some of the protesters shouted , "Death to Israel" and "America is the biggest devil" as RT's Lucy Kafanov declared . Hassan Nasrallah in person announced the beginning of a world campaign to stop the screening and sharing the provoking film ‘Innocence of Muslims.’ He said that people of the world cannot understand the Muslims’ deep reverence for the Prophet Muhammad. He talked about a serious movement that may continue in the Muslim world '' in defense of the prophet of God" . He continued to say that the Muslim people cannot ''remain silent over insults against'' the Prophet. He continued to say that Muslim people intend to offer their blood and their kin '' for the sake of'' '' dignity and honor". The Lebanese political leader asked the international community to criminalize all the insults to Islam , Christianity and Judaism. He also said that the film may have grave repercussions in the whole world. US Embassy in Beirut destroyed the classified material as a security precaution. The Beirut embassy had “reviewed its emergency procedures and is beginning to destroy classified holdings,” declared a State Department status report obtained by the Associated Press. In Washington, the officials declared that there was no immediate threat to the embassy. The decision to “reduce classified holdings” was a routine, they said. Earlier Monday, the State Department had to warn US citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon because of the potential for a “spontaneous upsurge in violence remains” in that country, while the Lebanese authorities cannot guarantee protection. This amateur film ‘Innocence of Muslims’ sparked outrage across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia last week. Many Muslims were infuriated by a clip of the film posted on YouTube mocking Islam's Prophet Muhammad. In protests , some people have been killed and dozens were arrested .
