RHP Colby Lewis agrees to a one year contract extension with Texas Rangers

Arlington Texas. Right handed pitcher Colby Lewis, 33 who prior to the 2010 Major League Baseball season signed a two year contract with the Texas Rangers with a team option.

The Texas Rangers baseball team officials will have a press conference Monday afternoon to announce they will sign Lewis to a one year contract to pitch for them in 2013.

Lewis had a season ending operation two months ago to repair a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow. His pitching record in the 2012 Major League Baseball is in 16 starts six wins and six losses with a 3.43 earned run average.

Lewis will not be ready to play for the Rangers on opening day in 2013 since the recovery time from the operation to his elbow will take from nine months to a year.
