The mighty Roger Federer was defeated by the British Andrew Murray in the London Olympics 2012. It was not even a month back that Federer has defeated Murray in the Wimbledon’s final. This time Murray succeeded in taking a strong revenge by winning the gold medal.

Andrew Murray is on top of the word after defeating none other than Roger Federer himself. On Sunday afternoon at 4 O’clock the Wimbledon’s Centre Court witnessed history in the making. Roger Federer was demolished 6-2 6-1 and 6-1 in a matter of two hours. After winning the gold medal Andrew Murray said, “I have had a lot of tough losses in my career and this is the best way to come back from the Wimbledon final”; Murray also said, ”It’s number one for me – the biggest win of my life”. This was not the first time Murray was facing the mighty Federer. In all Murray has appeared for four Grand Slam finals, out which in three Grand Slam finals he faced Roger Federer and lost in all the three of them. US Open in the year 2008; Australian Open in 2010 and Wimbledon Championship in the year 2012 were the three Grand Slams. The last one was held a month back where Roger Federer defeated Andrew Murray by 6-4 5-7 3-6 4-6. Till now Murray has never defeated Federer in the best-of-five-sets match. In fact in the last Wimbledon match he had tried his level best to compete but could not perform to win. Murray had been waiting for this moment; for the last time he said he led the country down in the Wimbledon’s final. After the ace serves and winning the final match point, Murray was left astonished and stood in the same place till he realised that he had actually won. I had a chance of going deep into the tournament, but I was a little bit tired after Wimbledon, and playing the mixed as well. But I felt so fresh. On the court today I didn’t really feel nervous at all, apart from at the beginning of the match. I have had a lot of tough losses in my career, and this is the best way to come back.
