Charlotte North Carolina. ESPN football reporter Chris Mortensen reports the National Football League has replaced a side judge before the New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers football game because he was seen in a Facebook page wearing New Orleans Saints gear.
The side judge who was replaced is Brian Stropolo was seen on his Facebook page wearing New Orleans Saints football gear outside the Mercedes Benz Superdome before a preseason game.
The incident could be an isolated incident or a scandal ready to happen since the National Football League referees are locked out in a labor dispute and the league has hired subsitute referees who have never worked in the professional level and the replacement officials are supposed to be unbiased.
The locked out officials are impartial in calling football games. The league evidently did not do a good job checking the backgrounds of the replacement officials.
This might give the locked out officials some leverage to get a collective bargaining agreement soon so they could return to work. If not the league will have a scandal on their hands pretty soon.
