Paul WIlliams will be at the MGM Grand to see Saul Alvarez vs Josesito Lopez [Loaded Gloves]

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs Josesito Lopez is one of the double-header in a Mexican Independence Day weekend in MGM Grand Las Vegas tonight, just few blocks from Thomas and Mack Center where Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Sergio Martinez will also be held. Check this page for Canelo vs Lopez live updates and highlights.

Joselito Lopez, 30-4, just came from victory after unleashing an attack that broke Victor Ortiz's jaw who forced his to quit in the 9th round. Lopez was originally scheduled to fight Kendall Holt in a defense of his title sometime in 2012, but Holt pulled out of the fight.

Lopez punching power highlights his excellent resume having took out undefeated Michael Dallas, Jr. by knockout in the seventh round, to win the North American Boxing Federation Light Welterweight Championship last year to bring his TKO wins to 18.

Ovbiously Lopez came into this fight as underdog against young Mexican sensation Canelo Alvarez as one of the biggest names at junior welterweight. Alvarez first taste to American limelight when he defeated Shane Mosley in 12 rounds via unanimous decision last May for his WBC Light Middleweight title.

A sure victory over Lopez tonight will continue Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, 40-0-1, dominance at this division with sight not so far from pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather. But it's still doubtfull if Mayweather will take the 22-year old Canelo in favor of superfight against Manny Pacquiao soon.
