Former child doctor arrested on child porn charges in Massachusetts

Boston Massachusetts. Dr. Richard Keller, 56, a pediatric endocrinolgist was arrested in his house in Andover on Thursday on child porn possession charges.

Keller is in custody as of Friday. He faces a bail hearing on Monday.

Keller worked at Children's Hospital in Boston and is a pediatric instructor at Harvard Medical School have placed him on leave on the child pronography charges against him by the federal government.

An affadavit report says during a search of Keller's home the authorities found 60 to 100 DVDs and over 500 photos of child pronography.

Keller was the medical director at Phillips Academy for 19 years before his termination. John Palfrey who is the leader of the prep school in Andover said Keller was not terminated because of the child porn charges but for showing an inappropriate cartoon to students in 2002 and in an inappropriate voice mail to a colleague in 2010.

A Children's Hospital spokesman said none of the patients or family members issued complaints of how Keller treating his patients by crossing the line of bothering them.

If Keller is found guilty of the charges against him he could spend a minimum of five years to a maximum time of 20 years in prison.

Phillips Academy is a selective prep school whose alumni include both former presidents George H W Bush, George W Bush, actors the late Jack Lemmon and the late Humphrey Bogart.
