Is There A Safe Haven In The Middle East?

With so much conflict going on within the Middle East and within northern Africa there seems that there is not a safe haven for residents of the Middle East to go.

The war still rages on in Afghanistan, which has spread into Pakistan. US occupation of Iraq has not went well as radicalism has forced people to leave the country. Radicalism has also forced people to leave Tunisia, Algeria, Mali, Libya, and Egypt as a result of the backlash to the Arab Spring.

Going anywhere in the Arabian peninsula is no longer safe as Saudis attempt to quench the Arab Spring from taking over. Moving to Iran cannot be considered an option as they could be invaded if the country continues to produce nuclear material. Israel is not a viable option because the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians is a powder keg that could ignite at any moment.

The conflict in Syria has spread into Lebanon as well. People are fleeing the land by the thousands. Most of the refugees have tried to find some solace in Turkey. However, Turkey is so overcrowded that they can no longer take more refugees.

By process of elimination, the only country left is Jordan. In eschatological texts, Jordan has been predicted centuries ago that the nation would be a safe haven for those living in perilous times throughout the Middle East region.

The foundational text is found in the book of the prophet named Daniel. During the Babylonian Empire, the prophet correctly predicted the next three world empires in order: Persian, Greek, then Roman. Check out Daniel 11:41 in which he predicts the movements of the leader of the final world empire.

"He shall enter into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab and the chief of the children of Ammon." (KJV)

We are now living in the time in which many countries in the area of the Middle East are being overthrown. However, the prediction from the prophet is that three ancient countries will escape the oncoming wrath: Edom, Moab, and Ammon.

Take an ancient map and transpose the boundaries onto modern topography. You will then realize that all three countries of old are within the nation of Jordan. To answer the question in the title of this article, there is a safe haven in the Middle East. That safe haven is the country of Jordan.
