Round three of the Blind Auditions on “The Voice” began with pizza cook Samuel with a voice and style that sounded nothing like his looks. Adam pushed his button within the first measure. Christina and Cee Lo followed shortly behind. Adam called Samuel a reggae music scholar. Samuel chose Adam for his coach.
Chris was in the boy band Dream Street but failed to turn any coaches chairs with his performance. Adam called Chris a performer but needed to focus on his singing. Mike, Jasmine, and Brandon also failed to turn any of the coach’s chairs.
Nigerian born Nelson had to flee his homeland with his family. Now based in Balitmore he goes by Nelly’s Echo and played guitar as he sang “Ain’t No Sunshine” for his audition. Christina and Adam turned their chairs. Christina said that she wanted to go to the concert. Nenny’s Echo chose Christina for his coach.
The first duo of the season – 2Steel Girls – were a mother/daughter team who came from a family band. Cee Lo and Blake turned their chairs together. The girls chose Blake for their coach.
While their auditions were not shown Lisa, Marissanne, and Loren joined Christina and Adam’s team.
Professional Hip-Hop dancer Domo claims that in China she is like Lady Gaga. Domo took over the stage for her audition dancing more than she sang, but impressed Cee Lo enough for him to turn his chair early in the performance.
The final audition for the night was Nicole Nelson with “Hallelujah”. Adam was the first to turn his chair, with the other three judges following suit. Adam said it was his favourite version of the song. Admitting that she came out thinking only of team Blake but in the end chose Adam for her coach.
“The Voice” returns Monday with more blind auditions.
