Bravo picks up "Heathers" reboot

Beverly Hills, 90210 made Shannen Doherty into a household name, but it was Heathers that may have begun her reputation as a Hollywood bad girl as one of the namesake "mean girls".

The film, which stars as Winona Ryder as Veronica and Christian Slater as her boyfriend Jason "J.D" Dean, has become a cult teen classic.

Now, it's been reported that Bravo has given the greenlight for a reboot series, this time with Veronica (Ryder)'s daughter as the protagonist up against a new generation of mean girls in high school called the Ashleys: the daughters of the surviving Heathers.

Jenny Bicks of Showtime's The Big C will write and executive produce the project.
