Ashburn Virginia. Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III or RG3 as he is nicknamed made National Football League (NFL) history when he became the first rookie ever to win the honor of being named the NFC Offensive Of The Week in the league's first week.
Griffin impressive debut on Sunday which he led his team to a 40-32 victory of the New Orleans Saints which included two touchdown passes, no interceptions, over 300 yards passing and rushing for 42 yards in ten carries with the football which is the first time a rookie in his debut accomplished that feat in the history of the National Football League.
Griffin is the first rookie to win the award since Rod Gardner in week six of the 2001 football season.
The last Washington Redskins football player to the award was running backin 2008 when he rushed for 145 yards against the Redskins division rival Philadelphia Eagles.
Now we shall see if Griffin is the real deal or he will be an answer to a trivia question in the future in this sport. So far so good.
