A break-through anti-wrinkle cream offering a non-surgical alternative that would probably make going under the knife for woman redundant, is hitting the market this week. No surprise therefore that 60,000 people are in the waiting list for this amazing face product, which is said to reduce the effects of aging dramatically.
Cosmetic giant Avon's ANEW Clinical Pro Line Corrector Treatment cream has been formulated jointly with world renowned dermatology laboratory Neostrata. One of its fans is actress , 36, who after using it says she noticed ‘an immediate difference to my skin which appeared smoother with a fabulous glow to it’.
In human beings it’s the proteins collagen and elastin, which gives skin its youthful plumpness and elasticity. It is aplenty in a young person’s skin; however, as people age the production of these proteins slows down rapidly, causing lines and wrinkles to develop.
It is here that Avon has stepped in developing a cream containing what it claims is a “miracle” ingredient, which stops the slowdown of proteins. The special ingredient A-F33 (Amino-Fill 33) in the cream apparently boosts the collagen and elastin production giving the skin its youthful glow.
The molecule A-F33 deactivates critical collagen blocking in skin cells, helping to let loose untapped collagen. The modified protein A-F33 licensed to Avon is the result of painstaking work of scientists in Princeton, U.S.
Tests were carried out on 69 women in the age group between 35 and 59 years, who used the new face cream twice a day for eleven weeks. After just a week of starting the treatment all of them claimed that there was marked reduction in the wrinkles and fine lines on their faces.
Some of the tested women even decided they would no longer want to have cosmetic surgery for their face due to the product’s efficacy. The dermatologists also used a 3D imaging camera to check the skin's response and found that the cream had thickened the epidermis, the outer layer of the skin.
“Avon are to be congratulated for collaborating with Neostrata to produce an affordable product that has been rigorously tested and seems to deliver the kind of results I’m unaccustomed to seeing with other mass skincare brands,” said cosmetic dermatologist Dr Sam Bunting.
Bunting however, was more enthused by the novel ingredient in the new anti-wrinkle cream, “I’m particularly excited by the development of a new ‘active’ which has great potential to work synergistically with other proven ingredients like vitamin-A derivatives and vitamin C, making this potentially one of the most exciting breakthroughs I've seen in recent years.”
Associated press reports:from Avon's research and development department said that the ingredient had the power to change the way women looked after their skin. "A-F33 is potentially as game changing in the fight against wrinkles as alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) and Retinol were in the 1990s," he said.
The cream goes on sale this Friday at the Avon website: www.avonshop.co.uk and is also available at the company’s Avon Ladies.
