Pasir Mas, Malaysia (Sept 12, 2012):

A long-long time ago there were two brothers namely Jusoh and Idris live in a village called Subang Jaya in Petling Jaya, one of a biggest towns in the state of Selangor. Both of them learned from a same teacher at the same the school.

After passing out from school they planned to go to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia to look for a job. On the way to Kuala Lumpur during that time they had to go through hick jungles. Idris saw a foot trace of an elephant at the path they walked through.

“This is the trace of a male blind elephant,” Idris told his elder brother. “How do you know?” Jusoh asked.” As what I saw is that the elephant is walking from south to wards the north. ”Idris who does not want to argue with his elder brother just kept quiet and did not say a word.

Not long after that, they saw a big male elephant eating banana trees. When the elephant saw them, it upheld its trunk and blew out a loud sound. The elephant then ran away into the jungle. Before the animal ran away, Jusoh could see the left aye of the elephant is blind.

He then thought, “How is Idris so clever, whereas we learned at the same school and passed the same examination. After they worked for about three years in Kuala Lumpur, Jusoh and Idris came back to their village for holiday.

Once they reached their village, they quickly went to meet their teacher to give two bowl of cooking oil which they bought from Kuala Lumpur as gift.

While sitting down and chit chatting, Jusoh told the teacher about the blind elephant. “How Idris knew the elephant was a male and had one blind eye?”

The teacher did not answer immediately. “Jusoh do you know that the bowl of oil is only filled with half of the oil?”

“Yes, “ answered Jusoh “I felt surprised to see it because at the time we bought it from Kuala Lumpur the oil was full.”

“Didn't you see that the bowl carried by Idris was full? “This is because, the teacher continued, “he bought a thick bowl so that it would not be easy to leak.” He then looked at Idris, "Please tell Jusoh that how you knew about the elephant?”

Idris explained: “I saw the tree trunks at both sides of the paths were torn because of its tasks. Only male elephant has task. More over the foot trace seemed to be deeper at the left side compared to the right sides of the paths, showing that its left eye is blind.”

The teacher was smiling looking at jusoh and said: “What we learned from school is still not enough. We have to learn more from our lives after we left school.” – Ends.
