Night two of the blind auditions on “The Voice” featured a first for the show and another singer who turned the heads…or chairs of all four coaches.
The show started off with Adriana, a waitress in New York” who not only turned the chairs of all four coaches but earned herself a standing ovation to boot. The coaches called Adriana a superstar. Adriana chose Christina for her coach.
Former wrestler Casey Muessigmann – yes that is his real name – performed “Sweet Home Alabama”. As Casey was walking out, Blake remarked that he heard cowboy boots. It didn’t take long for Blake to turn his chair and was followed by Cee Lo. After making their “pitch” to Casey, he chose Blake for his coach.
Singing guitar player Aquile performed the Sirpiece “Your Song”. Adam and Christina turned their chairs at the same time very early in the performance; but Cee Lo took until the last note before turning his chair. Aquile chose Christina for his coach.
Ryan Fogerty’s day job is the tour production co-ordinator for Lee Ann Rimes. Even though Lee Ann felt Ryan had some talent, none of the coaches turned their chairs. Blake said that Ryan needs to develop a little more. Brett, Jamie, and Matt also failed to turn any of the coach’s chairs.
Harry Potter look alike MacKenzie was the first to play a guitar as he performed. Cee Lo was the only coach to turn his chair.
The last audition of the night was a first for “The Voice” with Mariachi singer Julio who performed his song – “Lambamba” - in Spanish. Blake turned his chair within the first few notes; Cee Lo again waited until the end of the song to turn his chair. Cee Lo, with the support of a cheering crowd, asked to hear Julio sing a Mariachi song. Julio chose Blake for his coach. Blake said that Julio sang the song as good as its original singer Richie Valens.
