Blair Whitaker, the Snowman, had planned for a longer stay in his snow cave in the Remarkables ski field in south Island, New Zealand but had to leave within one month because of a blizzard.
He had entered the cave on 11th of August 2012 and had planned to remain in the snow cave along with two of his friends to raise funds for the Aspiring Avalanche Dogs and had been able to raise $10,000 – his target had been twice that amount.
But – while coming out the team had to burrow through the thick snow which had blocked he entrance – it took them nearly 3-hurs.
This has been reported in nzherald.co.nz of 12th of September 2012.
He would now auction the outdoor gears that he had received from well-wishers at the Subculture nightclub.
