Trenton mayor's Tony Mack's home get's raided by FBI agents .
This struggling city surely had difficulties before Tony Mack was elected mayor. But in the two years that he's held that office, their pace has accelerated. The FBI raid on the mayor's home in the dead of night may yield evidence of more serious problems. "We have not violated the public trust in any way," Mack said on leaving the house FBI agents had combed through half the night. The agents left carrying two boxes, but there has been no indication of their contents. There also has been no indication that Mack, personally or politically, is the target of any probe. The shame is that there are so many situations — involving Mack's family, associates, political pull -- that could be under investigation. Agents also searched the Trenton home of Mack's brother, Ralphiel Mack, and the Ewing residence of Joseph "JoJo" Giorgianni, a convicted child molester who contributed thousands to Mack's 2010 mayoral campaign. Another relative is facing six years in prison for ordering Trenton Water Works crews to perform private side jobs with city equipment while on the city clock. A former city official has said Mack ordered a change at the city water utility that gave his half-brother Stanley "Muscles" Davis, a supervisor there, the authority to order emergency overtime. Yet again, the FBI search could stem from a civil suit filed by a former city recreation department employee who accuses the mayor of misconduct.
