Simon Cowell forced to take break after nervous exhaustion

Simon Cowell reportedly had to withdraw from work this summer after a health breakdown that saw him become “a weird vampire.” It is said that the music mogul collapsed under the strain of his professional and personal life and had to take a break from filming auditions for his US version of “The X Factor”.

According to reports, doctors advised 52-year-old Simon Cowell to cut out all of his health supplements and quit smoking in the wake of the health collapse. He was bedridden for a week and cut off from friends and colleagues as well as the top TV executives.

The Sun reported that the “X Factor” guru confided in his old friend, Louis Walsh, who filled in for Cowell on work commitments. He told Louis, "I don't want any more tablets and pills. I'm cutting out the lot, including cigarettes. I desperately need peace. I'm craving normality. I've got to work out my demons and come out of it.”

"I have to get back to where I was years ago. I had to stop reading texts at three in the morning and making calls later and later. I wanted peace," he said.

Reportedly, Simon Cowell's health hit a low after he had an operation in Los Angeles to fix an earlier facial operation that had been done in London. He was diagnosed with nervous exhaustion and his personal physician ordered complete bed rest. As a result, the music boss missed the promotional time with new “X Factor” judge Britney Spears.

The Sun claimed that Simon Cowell couldn’t bear the stress of juggling his vast entertainment empire in the UK and the US. Speaking of his routine, Cowell said, “My life was like a night shift. I'd forgotten the sensation of the morning.”

The updated version of “Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell,” describes the hard life of the music giant who became paralyzed with tiredness and his immune system started failing him.

Although his company, Syco Productions, released an official statement claiming that he was suffering from bronchitis, Louis revealed that his friend was dealing with a midlife crisis. Eventually, the star spent nearly three weeks in near total isolation to de-clutter his life.

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell is gaining a Casanova status as it was revealed recently that he enjoyed a seven-year fling with an actress he met at a playboy party.
