The 49-year old Singh knows there would be no margin of error as the Saturday third round starts but he is a veteran in PGA Tour having won 34 (14th all time).
Singh known for his meticulous golf preparation, won his last major in 2004 PGA Championship. He won the FedEx Cup in 2008 by capturing the only two playoff events and virtually clinching the $10 million bonus halfway through the playoffs.
The Fijian with Hindu decent rose to No. 1 in the world in 2004 said after Friday second round, “I’ve got to keep it going,” he added, “I’ve been playing well for two days for a while now, but I need four days of good playing. Sooner or later, I think four days is going to happen. And hopefully, it starts this week.”
Meanwhile buddies Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy scorecard were almost identical after second round Friday. However as the third round starts, the two went on separate direction with Tiger Woods shaky starts tumbling him down at 7th place as McIlroy just steady at second.
Phil Mickelson surprisingly climbed at the BMW Leaderboard with six birdies going into the middle round with 4 successive birdies at from 6th to 9th hole. Mickelson sneak in from 11th spot all the way to 2nd behind Singh.
