5.6 magnitude earthquake hits China, kills 64

According to US Geological Survey, two quakes strikes Southwest China. On its official website, the first quake struck at 11:20 a.m. (0320 GMT) at a depth of around 10 kilometers (six miles), with a second quake around an hour later, putting the magnitude of both at 5.6.

The tragedy resulted to 550 injured residents and killed 64 as confirmed.

Residents described the scene of tremendous panicked crowds caused a number of injuries, damages building and streets, houses collapsed and landslide.

There was no tsunami alert raised.
