The Israeli army killed six Palestinian citizens in a series of attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Witnesses in the area said that on Thursday morning an Israeli tank fired a flechette shell near the agricultural college east of Beit Hanoun, killing three people and wounding three others. They added that Israeli forces prevented medical teams from reaching the scene to evacuate the wounded. Their bodies were taken to a local hospital.
In a separate incident, three more Palestinians were killed Wednesday evening when an Israeli aircraft shelled a group of citizens east of Bureij refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian health official Ashraf al-Kidra said the raid targeted four citizens near an orchard farm around the site of Makboula, east of Bureij refugee camp, in the center of the Gaza Strip, leaving three of them dead.
The victims were identified as Khalil Faraj Aljarba, 27; Khaled Salah Crim, 25; and Zechariah Mamdouh Aljammal, 20.
An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed the attack, claiming that the Israeli army targeted a group of terrorists who were preparing to launch rockets at Israel from the center of the Gaza Strip.
"This cell was involved in previous launches of rockets into communities in southern Israel," she added.
Earlier, the Israeli army said in an initial statement that the men targeted from the air had previously fired rockets across the border and were preparing to do so again. According to the Israeli army, more than 450 rockets have landed in Israeli soil since early 2012.
On the other hand, Palestinian security said that the Israeli forces launched over 140 air and ground assaults on the Gaza Strip in August that killed nine Palestinians and injured many others.
In the same context, Israeli F-16 war planes have launched at least five airstrikes on several targets in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, injuring several Palestinians. The war planes and drones are still filling the skies of Gaza, which means a new Israeli strike is intended.
Meanwhile, several Israeli vehicles and tanks entered the strip early Thursday as they moved deeply in the city of Khan Younis and fired against Palestinian homes. Israeli military confirmed this attack, too.
The Israeli army chief of staff declared that he does not exclude an Israeli invasion of Gaza and expects new offensive war on Gaza Strip.
Opinion:
The Israeli army knows very well that the people killed had nothing to do with firing rockets, but Israel as always claims that they kill members who "intend" to target Israel with rockets.
It's no longer necessary for the Palestinian resistance to go to the Gaza border to launch missiles, as in the past. They now have missiles that can be launched from anywhere, even from the Gaza beach, and will easily reach the Israeli lands. Therefore, Israel is never honest in what it claims.
I noticed that the Palestinian resistance has not responded to the new Israeli aggression, but I expect the answer to be tonight. For sure we will go back to the point of action and reaction.
After all, the people in Gaza are expecting a hot night. On the other hand, residents of the settlements adjacent to Gaza Strip are not expecting a quieter night than Gaza's.

Saleh, it just doesn't add up. Israeli intelligence is tracking hundreds of terrorist. When they find them they do targeted killings, just as the US, France, England, Poland do likewise with people who plant IEDs in Kabul. There is no difference and no pleasure in killing - certainly not killing innocents.
Israel has powerful checks and balances and prosecutes its own in the event any so-called "war crime" has been alleged. Most of the time the allegations prove to be untrue, just as it was proved that Israel was within its international-law proscribed rights to blockade Gaza and respond with force to force.
The old saying is still true. If the Arabs would put down their weapons PEACE would break out. If Israel puts down its weapons, there would be no Israel.
It is a fact of history that the ONLY blockade to peace is not from Israel. It is from the Arab world, specifically Palestinian refusal to accept the very existence of Israel.
The Gazans cannot expect to lob explosives at the residents and kindergartens of Sderot that Israel will not defend it's children.
Because Gazans continue to lob explosives into Sderot, Palestinian children die.
Past PM of Israel Golda Meir told Yasser Arafat: "I could forgive you for killing our children. But I cannot forgive you for making us kill yours!"
I have a solution. Try it. The Arabs together announce that they accept the existence of Israel and hostilities are over.
See what happens in Israel.
Is that statement worth a try? They're only words.
