The Large Hadron Rap & Why the Large Hadron Collider must be stopped

Mr Chris Matyszczyk demands that the the CERN experiment must be stopped because the young scientists who dance the Large Hadron Rap with gay abandon appeared to be non “mentis compose.” Their words appeared to him to be sinister, especially their fascination with anti-matter, which could make all matter disappear.

The blog in CNET of September 10 titled “Why the Large Hadron Collider must be stopped” is brilliant satire and the remarkable thing is that it appears to have fooled quite a few of the 399 people who added their furious comments. As far as one can tell, only a few suggested that Chris was being satirical.

Chris pretends to be terrified that the Large Hadron Collider might transport the Alps to Cleveland. Chris Matyszczyk had me in fits with his tongue in cheek pretence.

I was afraid that Why the Large Hadron Collider Must be Stopped spoof might have been responsible for the withdrawal of the Large Hadron Rap from some sites on the Internet. I though that the management of CERN did not take kindly to its scientists and engineers doing a tribal dance, which tends to convey an image of frivolity. But apparently I was wrong because after all the rap was produced by them to attract the youth to physics. I managed to download a copy and uploaded it with this article. Anyway, don't forget to read Chris Matyszczyk’s blog to have a good laugh.

The satire reminds me of Evelyn Waugh works like Scoop and The Loved One, except that Waugh was not as explict as Chris.
