Listening is one of the most important things in your existence that you have to master. It is not enough that when somebody is talking and you are listening meant listening. Because there are a lot of instances that you listen to the speaker but you are not getting the message delivered by the talker. Sometime you just let it enter in the one side of your ears and you allow it to pass through the other ears.
There have been many cases that after the speaker delivered his message you are prompted to ask questions to your seatmates or person besides you of what is the content of the message. This kind of attitude is very embarrassing on your part because it signals that you are not listening to the speaker. It will reflect in yourself the lack of interest to what the person is talking to and if happens that the one talking is your superior you are making a demerit to yourself.
If you are not a good listener the tendency is that the person above you or your colleagues would not engage to you in a conversation because they know that you are not a good person to talk to. In this instance, you are making a distance to your peers or superior because you are showing a behavior of being not a good listener. Listening is also a skill that you need to acquire and mastered because if you do not have the ability of an empathic listener you are doom.
Have you tried conversing to other person and after you clearly delivered your message you are not being understood? Maybe there are many instances that you encountered this kind of experience. It does not mean that you delivered a vague message but it is on the fault of the receiver maybe because the person in front of you is not listening well. Perhaps the person you are conversing with is physically present but deep inside his whole being he is mentally out of this world.
