
Michael Clarke Duncan, the Oscar-nominated star of The Green Mile, passed away on Monday .He was 54.
Duncan's publicist, Joy Fehily, released a statement from Clarke's fiancée, reality star Omarosa Manigault, confirming that the 54-year-old actor died in an L.A.-area hospital.
The 6-foot-5, 300 pound Duncan was a star of such films as The Green Mile, Armageddon, Daredevil, and The Whole Nine Yards was admitted to the hospital 7 weeks ago after having heart attack.He was moved out of ICU after 3 weeks but had never fully recovered from the Myocardial Infarction.
According to TMZ, Duncan’s death came very suddenly this morning—his fiancé, two-time The Apprentice cast member and reality-show villain/real-life superhero, Omarosa Manigault, left the hospital Duncan with his mother for a short period of time, and when she returned, he had died.
Born in Chicago in 1957, raised by a single mother.He decided to become an actor after his mother pressure to quit playing football. But when his mother became ill, he dropped out of college, Alcorn State University, and worked as a ditch digger and bouncer to support her.
In 20s, when he was in Los Angeles,he strarted looked for acting parts and hired as a bodyguard for Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and other stars.
The murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G., for whom Duncan had been hired to protect before switching assignments, led him to quit his job and pursue acting full-time.
