Glenn Beck interviews Benjamin Netanyahu

The tension is brewing fast on both sides. Leaderships of both the countries are testing waters by issuing statements against each other, while at the same time both believe that the war will cost them heavily. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak have long been planning a full-fledged war against Iran, as they believe that this is the only one way to destroy nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic.

Following the threats from Israel, Iran-backed Hezbollah has also surfaced. Leader of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah said that Iran could strike military bases of the United States in Middle East if Israel launches an attack on nuclear facilities of the country. He said that his outfit was ready to respond to any Israeli attack at any time; therefore, it would be better for Israel to exercise restraint. Hassan Nasrallah is considered one of the most influential clerics in the Muslim world. He also runs a militant organization. The Lebanese based outfit Hezbollah is banned and the United States has labeled it as a terrorist organisation.

Hassan Nasrallah warned Israel and the US against any military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He said that Iran could easily strike American bases in the Middle East, besides hitting targets in Israel. The United States and Israel fear a severe backlash from Iran and Hezbollah; therefore, they are reluctant to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. Israeli prime minister has long been pushing the Obama administration for a military action against Iran, but the latter believes that military strike would bring severe repercussions in the region. The Obama administration wants to use military strike as the last option and before that it wants to resolve the issue through dialogue and negotiations.

The United States, Israel and their allies believe that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons under the garb of a peaceful nuclear program and therefore viable steps should be taken to halt the uranium enrichment by the country. On the other hand, Iran claims that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and it is her right to pursue the technology. Iran wants to acquire nuclear energy from the nuclear plants and also wants to use the technology for research purposes, especially in the fields of medical. The country believes that it would soon be able to treat cancer with the help of the technology.

However, the world powers do not appear convinced with statements of Iran and want an amicable solution of the problem. On the other hand, Hassan Nasrallah says that his outfit does not have chemical weapons, but they can give a huge loss to Israel at any time by hitting some specific targets.

Let us hope that there is no war between Israel, Iran and the United States over the Iranian nuclear plans.
