Newly promoted Eintracht Frankurt defeated Hoffenheim 4-0 to secure its second victory in the Bundesliga and holds second place.
Greuther Fuerth won its first victory in the new league with a single goal over FSV Mainz 05, an important away victory. Duesseldorf, the third newly promoted club fought to a scoreless draw against Moenchengladbach.
Hamburg, Augsburg, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart have their first two openers in this season and trail the league.
The new season has already brought some surprises, although it is difficult to see an emerging pattern. Although Munich has had a good start, one should recall that the Bayern were leading the league prior to the Christmas break during the last season and only 2 points separate top spot and number eight on the table.
