Amazon Kindle Fire Review

Don't get caught up with Android versus iPhone battle since Google isn't really afraid of Apple nor Facebook as competitor, as pointed out in Business Insider article.

Google's primary rival in the coming years to come is Amazon when they released Kindle Fire a year ago. Amazon's touchscreen tablet essentially hijacked Google's work on the Android platform to make its own forked tablet operating system.

In other words, Amazon stole Google's thunder when they introduced the Kindle Fire as it quickly became the bestselling Android tablet of all time. Since Google is supposed to be the lead developer behind Android they aren't about to sit back and let Amazon make all the money with their operating system.

People may say that Google should stick as a search company and don't bother to enter the tablet battle arena. But this pundits miss Google point, although Google is just a mere search company, it actually makes money from the searches people do before they are about to buy something online. According to the report, these commercial searches where the ads are make up about 20 percent of total Google searches.

Google executives worry about the growing trend among consumers to skip the traditional Google search altogether to just go directly and search for the product they would like to buy on Amazon.com, or, on mobile in an Amazon app.

With that said, Google released Nexus 7-branded tablet that is offered at an aggressive price point their fierce competitor to Amazon's Kindle lineup. Nexus 7 starting price at just $199 for the 8-gigabyte model, going up to $249 for double the capacity.

Some Nexus 7 reviewers are saying it's a Kindle killer and it's so good that they claim there's no reason to actually own a Kindle since the Google tablet allows you to read Kindle books and it's a better tablet overall.

But Amazon is fighting back they are expected to announce a new Kindle Fire 2 next week. Kindle Fire 2 release date is still to be verified when Amazon holds press event on September 6th. Did I mention that Apple also wants a piece of the action? Stay tune as Apple will be introducing a new iPad mini in the next month or two. And since we now have Google, Amazon and now Apple fighting for dominance ebook publishing, then what it is for you? If you are a an e-book writer, content writer/publisher then ride the kindle wave or kindle publishing revolution that Google, Amazon and Apple are all fighting to create.
