Models donned pink netted hearts over their heads to present the latest designs by Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada at her Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid at Ifema on August 31, 2012 in Madrid, Spain.
But with ensembles that were literally shaped like stars, wrapped candy, flowers, a heart, an umbrella that’s being rained on and other such artistic marvels, it’s evident that designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada was aiming for performance art rather than a fully wearable fashion collection.
Not that you couldn’t wear Ruiz de la Prada’s designs – it’s just that you would draw all sorts of attention to yourself – unless that’s what you’re looking for…
And then there was a very strange construction indeed that resembled a large fuzzy pink tongue…
There was one item though, the white daisy embellished sleeveless gown, which is truly well constructed and worthy of any red carpet event! And it’s this one dress that makes one wonder if everything – all that creativity – was leading up to this one creation…
Well done Agatha Ruiz de la Prada! But perhaps that fuzzy pink tongue was over the top…
Enjoy the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada S/S 2013 slideshow but brace yourselves – it’s gonna get a little bumpy folks…
