Yemen is no longer on the brink of a catastrophic food crisis, but rather is now in the midst of a food catastrophe.
267,000 children were facing life-threatening malnutrition; in July, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) predicted that in the next few months, one million children in Yemen could suffer severe malnutrition. The WFP also estimates that half of Yemen’s population is malnourished.
Last month, the World Food Program reported that half of Yemen’s population could be malnourished.
As these painful pictures show, it is often a daily battle, especially for children, to survive as food supplies begin to run low.
While food crisis in Yamen is not getting any attention from international media, its upto on all aid agencies to increase their efforts in combating and make it sure that aid won't go into the hands of terrorists.
