Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Phildelphia Phillies Comcast broadcaster Ben Davis said to the 94WIP morning show in Philadelphia on Friday morning said that Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel did the right thing by placing on the bench shortstop Jimmy Rollins for violation on Manuel's rules of hustle on the field of play in the middle of a game.

Rollins did not run at full speed on the base paths when he hit a pop fly in the infield that was dropped by New York Mets pitcher Jonathan Niese. The Phillies won the game 3-2 on Thursday night in Philadelphia.

Davis said Manuel has two rules for all of his players. Be on time and hustle at all times on the field. Davis angry outburst said Rollins disrespected his manager who is a lifelong baseball man, the Phillies fans, the orgainzation that has made him a millionaire.

It is not the first time Manuel has to discipline Rollins for not hustling on the baseball field. Manuel benched Rollins in the middle of a game in 2008.

Davis said if he were Manuel he would sit Rollins for the rest of the baseball season since Rollins has tested his patience to the breaking point.
